Jill started her career in accountancy over 30 years ago with a chartered accountancy practice in Preston after achieving her A-levels in Economics, Maths and Geography at Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School. Whilst working there she gained her AAT qualification. In 1990 Jill went self-employed and worked freelance for Mark Haslam Sons & Co. in Garstang and commenced work for Towers and Gornall, in October 1995, when they took over this practice. Shortly after joining Towers and Gornall she progressed through the ACCA professional exams and qualified in 2000.
Jill has lived in Garstang all her life and is married with two grown up daughters. She likes to keep fit and enjoys the outdoors. She regularly cycles to work, weather permitting, or if she hasn’t got too much shopping to take home. She is a keen runner and can often be seen being dragged along the canal bank or local lanes by her very enthusiastic Collie dog. Over the last year she has completed the Garstang 10K, Garstang Gallop and Garstang Half Marathon. She has recently started to go swimming before work and likes a challenge so is going to participate in Triathlon events, the first one being the Chester Olympic Distance Triathlon early June 2018.
