This year, we’re proud to be fundraising for someone very special to the Towers & Gornall family - three-year-old Elsie, the granddaughter of one of our clients, with our very own Great Towers & Gornall Bake-Off taking place at our office on Saturday 15th August to kick-start our fundraising efforts.
Elsie lives with drug-resistant epilepsy, experiencing multiple clusters of seizures every day, including while she sleeps. At times, she can have as many as 100 seizures in a single day.
The seizures, together with the medication she requires, have resulted in significant developmental delays affecting Elsie’s movement, speech, eating and cognitive development. She currently requires 24-hour care.
While the NHS provides some support, access to specialist therapies can be limited. Determined to give Elsie the best possible future, her family have been funding additional treatments and therapies privately, particularly those focused on supporting her physical development. Encouragingly, Elsie is already making progress, but these treatments come at a significant cost.
That’s where we hope we can help.

The Great Towers & Gornall Bake-Off
We’re inviting our staff, families, friends and the wider local community to get involved, with categories for both adults and children – so whether you’re a seasoned baker or simply enjoy getting creative in the kitchen, there’s an opportunity to take part.
Following judging by the Mayor of Garstang and other local judges, the cakes and bakes will be available to purchase, alongside tea, coffee and a raffle featuring some fantastic prizes that have been generously donated to support our fundraising efforts.
We’re also reaching out to local schools, churches, sports clubs and community groups because we’d love to make this more than just a bake-off – we want it to be a real community occasion.
Our team are getting behind the fundraiser too, whether that’s by entering their own bakes, helping on the day or supporting with the organisation. It’s something a little different for us, but we’re delighted to be able to use our position within the local community to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.
